Mrs. Nellie B. (Hollars) Perry, age 93, of Ashland City, went to be with her heavenly father Thursday, December 07, 2017. She was born June 25, 1924 in Franklin, Tennessee to the late Amos and Minnie (Burns) Hollars. Besides her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, John R. Perry, Jr.; son, David E. Spence (Mollie); son, Robert N. Spence(Kaye); daughter, Jean Ghent; step-son, Johnny Wayne Perry; granddaughter, Nakina Spence; sister, Mildred Woods; sister, Pearlie Andrews; brother, Robert Hollars and brother Wilburn Hollars.
Mrs. Perry a longtime West Nashville resident and worked at Sunshine Center Laundry for 20 years. She is remembered by her fierce love and support for her children and grandchildren. She is also known for her green thumb and her incredible talent and love of sewing.
Mrs. Perry is survived by her son, William L. Spence (Loyce) of Fairview; son, Kenneth W. Spence (Teresa) of Fairview; son, Virgil M. Spence (Rita) of Nashville; daughter, Frances Gentry (Memphis); step-daughter, Linda Ray (David) of Nashville; step-daughter, Brenda Hunt (Steve) of Nashville; step-daughter, Rita Perry of Nashville; sister, Daisy Hollars Potts; 18 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 18 great- grandchildren; and 4 great great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at West Harpeth Funeral Home with Dr. Hubert Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 3:30-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 -11:15 a.m. West Harpeth Funeral Home directing.
