Mr. Oscar Barry Steele “OB”, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away February 12, 2022 at the age of 73. A lifelong resident of the West Nashville area and graduate of Cohn High School, Mr. Steele served as a Metro Firefighter for 30 years, then retiring to spend time with his family. He loved dogs, bred Rat Terriers and Jack Russells, and had endless volunteer hours working with the Cheatham County Animal Shelter. Mr. Steele enjoyed visiting with family and friends, cooking for his dove hunting buddies, boating trips at Center Hill Lake, and sitting down having a beer with is friends at “The Trolley.”
Mr. Steele is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Henry and Willie Irene Steele; brother, Robert H. Steele; sisters, Wynona Ragland and Audrey Austin. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Deborah Steele; daughters, Susan Steele and Sarah Browder (Rick); grandchildren; Adrian Sampson, Alex O'Neal, and Kira Browder; sister, Yvonne Wolf; many loving nieces and nephews; his many friends, and a few who were very special to him, Johnny, Beverly and Eddie, Maryann, and Walter.
Visitation for Mr. Steele will be at West Harpeth Funeral Home, 6962 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN on Wednesday, February 16th, from 10:00AM until 1:00PM, with a memorial service to follow. Inurnment will be at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens at a later date.
