Patti Newton Deer has passed away. After a brief stay in the hospital Patti succumbed to heart failure early on the morning of November 29, 2018. Patti was many things a friend: a mother, a helper. Most importantly to me she was a fantastic grandmother and a great friend. She enjoyed every day of her life and always filled it with activities that interested her such as drawing, going to her painting classes, enjoying swim aerobic classes at the gym, and most of all spending time with her family. Despite all of the ups and downs life has thrown at her she never once lost hope or faith, and it is that faith that allows me to sleep knowing that she now eternally rests in heaven. Though it still hurts I can take great comfort in that. My grandmother was a wonderful person who helped anyone the best she could and always had some extra space for a couple of cats and dogs. Patti Deer is survived by her two children Kimberly Ann Deer (Daniel) and Anthony Patrick Dooley (Karyn), as well as her five grandchildren; Patrick, Jennings, Carter, Caroline, and Annalaura. The entire family of Patti Deer would like to thank everyone who helped make my grandmother's life as full and as special as it was.
A visitation is planned for Tuesday December 4th at West Harpeth Funeral Home (Charlotte Pike and Davidson Road) from 4 pm to 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Nashville Zoo or Guiding Eyes.
