Paul D. Hannah, age 92, of Nashville, TN passed away on May 12, 2018 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN. He was born in Cowan, TN on March 24, 1926 to the late James D. Hannah and Nannie Beane Hannah.
Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife of fifty years Mrs. Jean J. Hannah and three sisters, Rody, Louise, and Maxine.
Mr. Hannah is survived by his children, Linda Downs(James), Paulette Hannah, Monica Anderson, Mike Hannah, and John Hannah Sr.(Cathy); grandchildren, Jonathan Hartley, Bryant Davidson, Bradley Davidson, Lindsay Anderson, Tory Hannah, John Hannah Jr., Kristin Malone, and Mikey Hannah; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Leah, Ryland, Allyia, Abbey, Mckayla, Hannah, Abrial, and Aaron; He is also survived by his two sisters, Janie and Lynell.
Mr. Hannah proudly served his country in the Unites States Navy during World War II on the USS New York. He was part of two bombardments, one being on Iwo Jima, and the other which lasted over 70 days. Telling stories of his time in the service was something he enjoyed. Mr. Hannah also enjoyed riding his gator around his property and strawberry milkshakes. Times like these and even his stubbornness will always be cherished by his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 11:30am at West Harpeth Funeral Home with burial following at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 4:00-8:00pm and again on Wednesday from 10:00am until the time of service.
