Peggy Thompson Mowrey - Age 89, born on June 8, 1931, in Chattanooga, TN, received her gift of eternal life on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, as she entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her father, Joseph M. Thompson; her mother, Minna Thompson; and her late husband of 63 years, Reverend Robert Atchley Mowrey.

Peggy is survived by her two sons, Rob (Nancy) Mowrey, of Dallas, TX; and David (Cindy) Mowrey, of Nashville; her cherished grandchildren, Heather (Mark) Johnson, Hannah (Stephen) Clarke, Nathan (Jeanne) Mowrey, John (Ashley) Mowrey, Tate Mowrey and Andrew Mowrey; great grandchildren, Haley and Ally Jackson, Maddie, Drew, Addie, and Reid Mowrey, Henry and Margaret Clarke.

Peggy's calling was to be a pastor's wife. She unfailingly and unselfishly supported her husband Bob in ministry for the 63 years of their marriage. She was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church for 35 years, where she lovingly and enthusiastically taught the Living Witness Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Scottsboro Baptist Church for 12 years, where she taught the Faith Enrichment Sunday School 11 of those years. Peggy worked for the State of Tennessee for 22 years.

A Celebration of Mrs. Peggy's life will be on Monday, April 12, 2021, at 11:30AM, at Bellevue Baptist Church with Bobby Strickland officiating. Special music will be provided by Steve Smith, Clayton Feibush, her granddaughter Hannah, and her son Rob. Interment will follow next to her husband at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Her grandsons and family friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation with the Mowrey family will be on Monday from 9:30AM until the service time at 11:30AM, at Bellevue Baptist Church on Hwy 70.
