Phyllis Jeter Herman of Franklin, TN passed away on Nov. 3, 2017. She was born in Richmond, VA on Jan. 11,1942 to Buddy and Genie Jeter. She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Dick Herman. Children Greg (Katrina) Herman of Brentwood and Lori (Billy) Coxhead of Norcross, GA. Grandchildren, Morris and Rebecca Herman and Darby, Cort, Beck, and Liam Coxhead. Sister, Mary (Jack) Bailey. Brothers, Jim (Carol) Jeter, Mike (Marie) Jeter, David (Cindy) Jeter.

Phyllis graduated from St. Patrick High School in Richmond and Summa Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. Phyllis will be remembered for her gracious and giving spirit, generosity, and hospitality. She had a way of making those around her feel special, included, and comfortable. She was a great listener and put others before herself. While she enjoyed her tennis group (mostly talking at the net), her knitting and book clubs in FL, hunting for bargains, and dancing with her husband, her foremost love was always her family - her loving husband and children and especially her grandchildren. Granna was their #1 supporter and made each one of them feel special.

We will miss this gracious lady, but celebrate her life well lived. She loved well and was well loved. Thank you to everyone who enriched her life.

A memorial service will be held at St. Matthew Church (535 Sneed Rd., Franklin, TN) on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 11:00am. Visitation at the church will begin at 9:30, and a lunch will follow the service. Contributions can be made to St. Matthew Catholic Church, or Alive Hospice, 1710 Patterson St., Nashville 37203.
