Robert "Bob" Bunn - Age 79, of Nashville, went home to be with his Lord on May 26, 2016. He was preceded in death by father, Rev. Andrew J. Bunn; mother, Georgia E. Bunn; sisters, Ruth Young (Kim), Florence Jones (Oliver), and nephew, Bob Jones (Peggy). He is survived by his wife of exactly 54 years, Harriet Hassler Bunn; daughters, Laurie Knowles (Steve), Margaret Lizseski (John); grandsons, Matthew Lizseski and Steven F. Knowles, Jr.; nephews, Larry Jones (Patricia), and Barry Jones (Judy), and many more nieces and nephews. He was a 1955 graduate of Isaac Litton High School. He was a 1959 graduate of Tennessee Polytechnic Institute, now known as Tennessee Tech University, where he was a member of the rifle team and medaled in that sport. There he received his degree in Mechanical Engineering after which he received his professional Engineering License. During his career, he was an active member of ASHRAE, The American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers, Inc. His extensive career included his position as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Facilities for the Tennessee Board of Regents where he was responsible for managing design and construction programs for 47 colleges in Tennessee. Bob retired from the architectural firm of Barge Waggoner, Sumner and Cannon, where he worked on the Titans Stadium and was the project engineer on the MTSU stadium that stands today. Bob dutifully served his country in the military by joining the National Guard at age 17. He retired from the Air National Guard with the prestigious rank of Lt. Colonel. Combining his civil career with his military career, he worked for TEMA, the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, specifically as a planning officer with the Fixed Nuclear Planning Branch. Bob was a devout member of the Belle Meade United Methodist Church where he spent time on numerous committees, all dedicated to the actual development and maintenance of the church facilities. Bob was not all work and no play though. He was an avid golfer, was an expert marksman and loved his import autos. He was a season ticket holder for Vanderbilt football and basketball for years. He was an inaugural season ticket holder for the Tennessee Titans. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to so many, he will be sadly missed. Visitation with be Friday, June 3, 2016, at 10:00am. at Belle Meade United Methodist Church. The memorial service will follow at 11:00am with the Reverend Tom Laney officiating.
