Mrs. Rosemary Nichols Worley, of Nashville, TN passed away at the age of 92 at Alive Hospice in Nashville on July 9, 2018. Rosemary was born in Nashville on January 30, 1926 to the late Paul Nichols Jr. and Myra Patton Nichols.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Mr. James Samuel Worley.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Paul Nichols Worley(Karen Winkelmann), Marian Gill Worley(Fletcher Bangs Watson V), Susan Worley Meador(Tommy Meador), and James Samuel Worley Jr.(Shawn Concannon); and her grandchildren, Nick Worley, Ashley Spencer(Jason), Lillian Worley, Owen Worley, Michelle Scopel(Doug), Paige Bacon(Chase), Fletcher Watson VI, Blake Meador(Emelyn), and Shelby Murphy(Chris). She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Myra Evelyn Sills and Gloria Gladney; many nieces and nephews, and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as many others who she has loved and who have loved her along the way.
Rosemary graduated from Isaac Litton High School in Nashville; this is where she would meet the love of her life at the age of 14, her high school sweetheart, James Samuel Worley. She then attended Millsaps College where she would earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was a lifelong member of Belle Meade United Methodist Church.
Rosemary will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving mother and friend, a lifelong woman of Faith, and a pursuer of truth and justice for all people. Her love of nature, reading, learning, volunteering and humanity will live on through her family. She will be missed but never forgotten. Rest in Peace, Rosie.
A memorial service will be held July 22, 2018 at Belle Meade United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service from 1:00pm until the service time. Bell Meade United Methodist Church's address is 121 Davidson Rd. Nashville, TN 37205.
In Lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made, in Rosemary's name, to The James S. and Rosemary Worley Fund for the Graduate Program in Economic Development at Vanderbilt or Belle Meade United Methodist Church.
