Roy E. Richards, of Nashville, TN passed away at the age of 73, at St. Thomas Midtown on Friday, July 5, 2019. He was born in Nashville on March 29, 1946 to the late James Alvin Richards Sr. and Nora Ellen Richards.
Along with his parents, Roy is preceded in death by three brothers, James Alvin Richards Jr., William "Billy" Henry Richards, and Freddy Earl Richards.
He is survived by his brother, Clarence Wayne Richard and his sister, Janetta Greer. Roy is also survived by two nephews, Billy Richards and Chris Greer; and his niece, Charlene Poole.
Roy was a member of Fatherland Baptist Church in Madison, TN. He was employed by Temco Incorporated for 20 years before he began a career with Southerland Incorporated where he would eventually retire.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at West Harpeth Funeral Home in Nashville at 10:00am with Bro. Porter Jennings officiating. Visitation will be held in the evening of Monday, July 8 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Tuesday, July 9 an hour before the service. Roy will be laid to rest with his brothers at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens in Nashville.
