Mr. Roy Oscar White, age 78, of Nashville passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 . He was born August 27, 1939 in Bridge Port, AL to the late Samuel Henry Oscar and Lola Florence (Sargent) White. Besides his parents, Roy is preceded in death by his siblings, Thelma Swain, Frank White, Bertha Raley, Hubert Decker, Odell Owens, Annie Matthews and Gladys Cash.

Roy served his country as a Corporal in the United States Marines. He was a truck driver for most of his life and retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority. He loved spending time watching the barges going up and down the Cumberland River and fishing. Roy enjoyed listening to bluegrass, country and gospel music. Roy has been known to spend time playing the guitar and banjo. But most of all he loved visiting family and friends.

Roy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lillie (Mason) White; son, Randall White; daughter, Sherron Poss; son, Roy Allen White; daughter Juanita Richards (Steve); son, Michael White (Victoria); brother, Charles White; sister, Allie Berry; sister, June Lyles; sister Janie Ellen Maggart; sister, Beverly Smith; brother, R.D. White; grandchildren, Aaron White, Hailey Reynolds (Brandon), Ryan Richards, Heather Richards, Rachel Richards, Brandi Richards, Austin Poss and Justin Poss; great-grandchildren, Kylie Richards, Logan White, Carson Reynolds and Bentley Reynolds.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 9th from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in the chapel of West Harpeth Funeral Home with Carlos Saddler officiating. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Cemetery.
