Ruby Elizabeth Carter, 82, passed away on October 26, 2016, at her home in Hendersonville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Carter, Sr., and her parents, John Calvin and Pearl Hand Thompson. She was the loving sister of seven brothers and five sisters, five of whom preceded her in death, including brothers, Clint Thompson, Joe Thompson, Johnny Thompson, Sr. and Calvin Rose, and sister, Carolyn Taylor. Ruby was a follower of Christ, and left a legacy of love as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She is survived by her children, Rhonda Hinson Sullivan and Ralph Carter, Jr., grandchildren, Jordyn Hinson, Landan Hinson, Emily Grace Carter, and Kaitlyn Carter, great-grandchildren Lily Marie Lopez and Jazmyn Aaliyah Hinson, sisters, Margaret (Charles) Gilliam, Dora (David) Patterson, Jean Parker, and Marilyn (Paul) Roberts, and brothers, David (Debbie) Thompson, Sr., Carlos (Sherry) Thompson, and Ralph Thompson, as well as many precious nephews and nieces. Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Ruby attended Pearl Cohn High School. A service of remembrance will be held at West Harpeth Funeral Home in Nashville, Tennessee on Friday, October 28, 1:00 PM with visitation from 10:00 AM - 1:00PM.
