Stan went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2015 on his ninetieth birthday. Proceeded in death by his wife of 61 years, Juanita Brumfield and granddaughter, Jessica Farler. He is survived by daughters, Kathy (Wayne) Farler of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Nancy (Ray) Steele, grandson Barry (Andrea) Steele, granddaughter Traci (Michael) Jenkins of Bowling Green, KY, and seven great grandchildren.
He was a retired Vice President and Trust Officer of Third National Bank and a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of Tennessee Tech and The National Graduate Trust School at North Western. He began his Trust Career with the old Nashville Trust Company. In later years after retirement Stan was employed by the West Harpeth Funeral Home.
A true humble, servant-leader in his local church, Brook Hollow Baptist, he served in many capacities. He was a past deacon, long-time teacher in the Junior Department and relief teacher of the George Fort Sunday School Class.
He was a member of the Executive Board of the Tennessee Baptist Convention and served on its Education Committee. Stan also served as a former chairman of the Executive Board of the Tennessee Baptist Foundation and was a volunteer at Baptist Hospital for many years.
The family wants to extend a special thank you to the staff of Barton House for the compassionate care rendered to their father.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015, at 10:00am, at West Harpeth Funeral Home with The Reverend Tom Gholson officiating. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00pm until 5:00pm, and on Monday one hour prior to the service at West Harpeth Funeral Home, 6962 Charlotte Pike, online guestbook www.westharpethFH.com
