Stephanie Jill ("Nefie") Evans, beloved daughter, sister, friend and confidante, left us suddenly on April 4, 2023. She was born 37 years ago in Nashville, Tennessee, to Dee Dee Cox Evans and Blake Clinton Evans.
Nefie was truly one of a kind. She symbolized what it is to love and was truly a blessing to many. She is known for having a heart of gold and unselfishly helping others, many of whom were going through difficult times that they were able to overcome because of her kindness.
She is known for her huge personality and great laugh. Hilarious and quick-witted, she loved silly jokes and riddles, gave the most clever, snappy comebacks, and laughed with everyone who knew her.
Nefie was a big kid at heart, as evidenced by her fun, extensive collection of Pez dispensers and her love of Harry Potter books. Her cats, which she adored, were her “babies.”
Having a true poet’s soul, she wrote numerous poems, both serious and humorous, and won a national poetry award when she was only 13 years old.
Nefie is survived by her parents, sister Melissa Evans Teal, brother-in-law Trapper Teal, nieces Blakely Teal and Kinsley Teal, along with aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved her.
A Celebration of Life honoring Nefie and her unique personality will be held on Saturday, April 15, at West Harpeth Funeral Home & Crematory, 6962 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will begin in the West Hall at 1:00 pm, with services to follow in the Chapel at 3:00 pm. The family welcomes all whose lives she touched.
“For no one is cast off by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love.” Lamentations 3:31-32.
Nefie Evans - shine on, you crazy diamond.
