Stephen Hunter Brown, age 82, formerly of Charleston, Missouri, died Monday, February 10, 2025 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.
Born May 31, 1942, in Cairo, Illinois to the late E. Lindsay Brown, Jr. and Thelma Hunter Brown, he was a graduate of Charleston High School, class of 1961. He was a lifelong member of the Charleston United Methodist Church. He was an avid sports fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and attended many spring training games in Florida. He also enjoyed traveling to see professional golf tournaments and loved his annual visits to the Dogwood Azeala Tour in Charleston.
He is survived by his children Stephanie Brown Allsup and her husband Bruce of Columbus, MS, Patrick Brown of Columbus MS, Leah Cook and her husband Michael of Columbia TN, and daughter-in-law, Jessica Brown of Chapel Hill, TN. His grandchildren, Austin Allsup of Columbus, MS, Ashley Allsup Smith of Madison, MS, Allison Allsup of Starkville, MS, Jenna Grace Hill of Nashville, TN, Baleigh Brown of of Madison, MS, Josie and Reid Brown of Chapel Hill, TN. His great granddaughter, Kennedy Blake Smith and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Ross Brown, formerly of Chapel Hill, TN, and brother, E Lindsay Brown, III.
A private family graveside service will take place at a later date.
