Madalena Nguyen- to my Ong Ngoai
To our grandpa, we are forever indebted to you for creating the most loving, supportive environment for us to be around. Thank you for always taking care of us. You always made sure that we were putting in our best efforts, in our culture, in the church, in song, in life, and to our family. I’d make sure that I understood the Sunday readings before walking out of church, just in case you’d ask me questions about it, and that made us so thoughtful with words. You taught us how to be thoughtful, creative, and thrifty. You showed us how to love each other in all the different languages, through love, Vietnamese, English, the occasional French, and humor. Each birthday was remembered, each special moment celebrated, and all the unconditional love was given. We are so heartbroken to let you go, but always grateful to be sitting next to the most loving, supportive people we will ever spend our lives with. We will certainly miss you everyday, especially with every important occasion that passes. Fly high, our most precious grandpa. We know, surely, that you’ll be making every soul laugh up there. We love and miss you so much. May you rest in sweet peace.
