Tina Lynn Countryman was born May 6, 1957 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Charles "Chuck" Countryman and Ona Countryman-Rust.

She confessed Christ at an early age at Macon Road Church of Christ in Memphis, Tennessee.

Tina attended the Memphis City School system. She was a cheerleader and graduate of East High School. She also attended Tennessee State University.

Tina's career as a singer, songwriter, and musician began at a very young age (around 8 or 9 years old). She won several talent competitions such as Northeast Optimist Club of Memphis and the Mid-South Fair competitions. Tina combined the dismal love of country-western with the contemporary sound of James Taylor when performing as guest entertainment in Searcy, Arkansas, the Arkansas Jamboree, the Von Theatre in Hernando, Mississippi, the Former Tennessee Governor Frank Clement's Blue Room, and at the Horseshoe Bend with Country Western Star Faron Young. As a child she would also perform weekly at the Lion's Club in Memphis, TN. Tina's style transformed as she grew with her music career, and she was eventually known for singing the "blues" with original writings such as "Muddy Mississippi Blues". She loved music and nature. Tina's other talents consisted of playing the keyboard, an artist, an original song writer and author of a poem book entitled, "Starlight Dancing", published in 2008. Tina was always the life of the party, and she never met a stranger. She was fun, loving, and full of life.

Tina was married to Bobby Joe Hughes and to this union two children were born.

Tina departed her earthly home on April 18, 2015.

Preceded in death by father, Charles "Chuck" Countryman. Survived children, Christina Sears (Dedrick), Charles Hughes; mother, Ona Rust; sisters, Patricia Waide, Kathy Peak (Richard); grandchildren, MaKayla Heard, MaLiyah Hughes, Harmoni Sears, Kadynce Sears, Caleb Silva; loving nephew, Richard Peak (Donna), 3 nieces.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 25, 2015, 12 noon until service time at 2 p.m. at West Harpeth Funeral Home with Dr. David Conner officiating.
