Verlie Elizabeth Morrow - Age 85, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017. She was a former member of Pennsylvania Avenue Church of Christ, where she prepared the church bulletin for many years and taught children's classes, the teenage girl's class, and the Tuesday Ladies Bible Class for many years.
As a member of Charlotte Avenue Church of Christ, Verlie also taught children's classes and the ladies Bible class and helped with the church bulletin for several years. She enjoyed helping at Bible Camp each summer. Verlie attended Woodrow School and graduated from Central High School in Columbia, TN. Among her many accomplishments, she was a Red Cross Volunteer. She worked for the health department in Livingston, TN. She was the Valedictorian of the Great Commission School and graduated post graduate three times as Valedictorian. Verlie was a professional as a seamstress and at hand work such as crochet, knitting, tatting, embroidery, quilting, etc. She was a longtime member of Bellevue Garden Club.
She and Milton enjoyed participating in all church activities including mission work, both local and international, volunteering at Churches of Christ Disaster Relief, Friday Night Singers, and were very active in the Senior Citizen Center at Cohn, and Tennessee Tripsters.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 plus years, Milton Morrow, Sr., sisters, Minnie Hicks, Margie Brown; brothers, Harold "Pet" Bell, and Farris Bell; brother in laws, Bully Hicks, Herman Brown; sister in laws, Frances Bell, Estelle Bell, and Elizabeth Bell.
She is survived by children, Milton Hight (Christie) Morrow, Jr. Joan (Jeff) Sadler, and Wanda (Carl) Sharpe; grandchildren, Melissa (Chris) Cornell, Jeremy Morrow, Patricia Shepard, Neal Sadler, and Grant Sadler; 7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; brother in law, James Morrow.
A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, December 22, 2017, at 10:00am, at West Harpeth Funeral Home with Bro. Clifford Dobbs and Bro. Darrell Blakenship officiating. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, and on Friday from 9:00am until the service time at 10:00am at West Harpeth Funeral Home.
