DAUGHERTY, Vernon C., 84, passed away April 28, 2012 after a long illness. Vernon is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Euna Green Daugherty, parents, George and Savannah Daugherty, and sister, Lois Walker. He is survived by daughters, Carolette J.D. Forbess, Connie J.L. Lee, Cathy Jerry Higgins, and Charlene David Moneymaker, grandchildren, Whitney and Brandon Hardison, and Alexandria and Baxter-Ryan Lee, and 2 great-grandchildren. Vernon served in the United States Army, retired from the Tennessee National Guard 230th Medical Battalion, and from the Veterans Administration Hospital as Chief of Production and Distribution, and was a founding partner of Fairview Farm and Home Supply. Vernon loved politics, community, hunting, horseback riding, and farming. He was a member of Tennessee Farm Bureau, Cattleman's Association, and North American Limousin Foundation among others. He was a devoted member of Bellevue United Methodist Church, and served as board member for many years. Vernon's legacy is his devotion to God, his family, all things agricultural, and giving people opportunities. The Family wishes to acknowledge the special people in Vernon's life, former wife Billie King, beloved companion, Betty Tomlinson, caregiver, Margaret Meadows, and Rev. James Tucker. A private family service was held Tuesday, May 1, 2012, and a Memorial Service will be announced. Donations may be sent to Green's Chapel and Oak Grove Church, P.O. Box 58935, Nashville, TN 37205.
