Virgie Bowe

BOWE, Virgie Faye-age 86, passed into eternal life on September 25, 2012. Mrs. Bowe was born in Hodgensville, KY on December 14, 1925. She was the daughter of the late William and Thelma Hood of Columbia, Kentucky. Mrs. Bowe attended Draughon's Business College in Nashville and pursued her love of art; painting whimsical characters for the Sumner County Schools, family home places for friends, family, and selling numerous oil paintings throughout her life. Mrs. Bowe was a member of the Hendersonville Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Kermit Bowe; sister, Mae Sparks; brother, Ben Hood. She is survived by brother, William Lowell Hood of Atlanta; daughter, Lynette Bowe Berry of Murfreesboro, TN; son, John Bowe Machell of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Bryan Berry Becky, David Berry, Matthew and Hannah Bowe; great-grandchild, Emily Ruth Berry. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12p.m.-2p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hendersonville Free Will Baptist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
