Wayne Alexander Hastings

January 12, 1949 — October 1, 2024

Kingston Springs

Wayne Alexander Hastings, with his family by his side, was welcomed to his eternal home on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

Born in San Bernardino, CA, the son of Ray and Catherine Hastings, Wayne was an all-around athlete and Big Man on Campus. Wayne met the love of his life, Pamela Lorraine, in their senior lab biology class. It was love at first sight. On June 6, 1970, Wayne and Pam vowed to be best friends and partners for life. June of this year marked 54 years of walking hand in hand. Their love story became intertwined with their faith story. Together, Wayne and Pam received the gift of salvation through their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The Lord blessed them with the gift of two children, Jennifer Rebecca and Zachary Todd.

Wayne’s accomplished career in Christian publishing included various roles: author, editor, marketer, and mentor. His goal was to place life-changing materials in the hands of others in order to equip and encourage them in their walk with Christ.

Wayne was a music-lover, a skilled guitarist, and a life-long LA Dodgers fan.

Wayne and Pam’s family grew to include Jennifer’s husband, Deron Cook, and Zachary’s wife, Anna (Hammonds). Wayne was Pop-Pop to Becky, Abby, Claire, and Todd.

The family invites you to an open-house reception celebrating Wayne’s life on Saturday, November 23, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at West Harpeth Funeral Home, 6962 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN 37209.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Wayne’s favorite ministries, Crisis Aid International https://crisisaid.org and Faith Women Ministry https://faithwomenministry.org/, would be appreciated.

“Absent from the body, present with the Lord.”

2 Corinthians 5:8

“As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with your likeness.”

Psalm 17:15
