William Baty

BATY, William T., Age 89 of Nashville, May 29, 2011. Born in Scottsboro Alabama, he later moved to Nashville where he worked for Dupont, Ferro Fiberglass and Vanderbilt University. Mr. Baty served in the Army during WWII in the European Theater. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church since 1949. Preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; grandson, Brandon. Survived by his children, Carol Atwood, Bill G. and Phillip; sisters, Catherine, Gladys Kelley and Joyce Moultrie Glen; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. A Life Celebration will be held 2pm Saturday at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with burial to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6pm – 8pm Friday; 1pm – 2pm Saturday. The family would like to thank Betty Gift for her loving care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Vanderbilt Heart or a charity of choice.
