Woodson Miller

MILLER, Woodson Eddie "Woody" age 85, passed away October 29, 2009 at St. Thomas Hospital after an extended illness.He was born at Bold Spring in Humphreys Co., TN on January 31, 1924. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Henry and Florence Hood Miller; brothers, Alpha and Doyle Miller; sisters, Loraine Murrell, Hester Snider, Vallie Wall and Maxine Ranson. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elise Curtis Miller; sons, Woody Curtis Miller and Edward Phillip Miller; grandchildren, Madeline Heath Hinson and Jeffrey Miller; great-grandchildren, Ellie and Hayden Hinson; step-great grandson, Jordan Garrett. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII on the Battleship Texas in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He operated Woody Miller Gulf Service for 27 years, and was a Court Officer in General Sessions Courts of Davidson County before retiring. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, November 2, 2009 at West Harpeth Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sisters of Charity, St. Thomas Foundation 4230 Harding Rd., Nashville, TN 37205Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
